چکیده

Objectives To analyze the occurrence rate of bifurcated mandibular canal (BMC) by cone beam CT(CBCT) and summarise a new classification for further clinical work academic communication. Method Randomly collected CBCT images 350 adult patients. Firstly, we analysed summarized BMCs into four types position bifurcation point in mandible. Second, did statistics about occurrence. Then have measured three kinds distance Type I II. At last, compared advantages disadvantages different classifications. Results Among these patients, found 110 people with BMC which indicated was 31.43%. The most common type I, especially IB, least III. Vertical between apex second molar, third molar are 4.36±2.51 mm 2.45±2.23 mm. Distance from two molars to spot 15.87±6.82mm 9.32±5.37mm. And retromolar foramen 22.19±5.97mm 15.82±4.68mm. Conclusion Comparing former typing theory, is simpler more convenient, should attach scholars’ attention during work.

Bifid mandibular canal in Japanese.

The location and configuration of mandibular canal variations are important in surgical procedures involving the mandible, such as extraction of an impacted third molar, dental implant treatment, and sagittal split ramus osteotomy. We report 3 Japanese patients with bifid mandibular canals using panoramic radiograph and multi-slice helical computed tomography (CT) images. In 2 of the 5 sides, t...
